About the Role
Position Summary:
Lead Teachers are responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate activities, maintaining a safe and nurturing environment, and facilitating children's learning and development.
Requirements
Qualifications:
Minimum Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education
1+ years teaching experience in licensed childcare setting
Current First Aid and CPR certification
State-required teaching credentials
Essential Responsibilities:
Classroom Management
Plan and implement curriculum
Maintain appropriate classroom environment
Document children's progress
Ensure health and safety procedures

Communicate daily with families
Document children's development
Share observations and concerns
Child Development and Learning
Create individualized learning opportunities
Observe and assess children's development
Implement developmentally appropriate practices
Support social-emotional development
Adapt activities for children with special needs
Maintain ongoing developmental records
Health and Safety
Follow all health and sanitation procedures
Maintain safe classroom environment
Administer first aid when necessary
Report accidents and incidents promptly
Monitor children's well-being throughout the day
Follow proper medication administration procedures
Professional Responsibilities
Attend staff meetings and training sessions
Maintain required continuing education hours
Collaborate with teaching team members
Keep current with early childhood trends
Participate in professional development activities
Maintain confidentiality of all children and families
Curriculum and Planning
Develop weekly lesson plans
Create engaging learning centers
Prepare materials for daily activities
Evaluate and adjust curriculum as needed
Incorporate cultural diversity in planning
Document children's learning through portfolios
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and carry children up to 40 pounds
Stand, walk, bend, stoop, and sit on floor with children
Move quickly in emergency situations
Maintain constant supervision of children
Work outdoors in various weather conditions
Physical stamina to maintain energy level throughout the day
Work Environment:
Full-time position during center operating hours
Indoor and outdoor environments
Exposure to childhood illnesses
High-energy, active environment
Regular exposure to noise and activity
May require occasional evening hours for events
